Hot One’s New Hot Show

Last night, February 18th, TruTv premiered the Hot One’s Game Show. This new reality trivia show based on the ever-popular web series pits two teams of two against one another as they go through a gauntlet of wings and trivia questions in hopes of winning $25,000.

When Sean Evans announced that Hot Ones was hitting our television screens in a new way, I was, of course, skeptical because I did not want to see something that I love ruined by syndication. At first, I almost did not watch it in the fear that the magic that First We Feast created would no longer be there when you bring on any John or Jane Doe. Luckily, I was wrong.

These contestants are practically put through hell when participating in this show, and I have to say that I have to respect anyone that signs up to have their face melted off by up to a million Scoville in the pursuit of a cash prize. The crazy thing is that all wings must be thoroughly cleaned before the round starting, and you can tell by the looks on the faces of these contestants that the wings are rather unpleasant. Some even have a hard time keeping the wings down and must lean on a bucket just in case their body decides to reject the heat. Not only must they stomach the wings, but they must also survive a barrage of questions that they must answer despite not being able to feel their face. With each round, a new wing is brought to the table, and with each wing, comes a new level of pain. As these wings hit the back of your throat, host Sean Evans hits you with another question. We have seen on the First We Feast channel how this works for some celebs, and the result is no different on this new show. The pain makes it difficult for you to concentrate and pay attention to the questions that are asked of you, let alone come up with an answer, and that is what makes this show so entertaining. Watching each person squirm as they try to pick out an answer and deliver it in time while their mouths are on fire is hilarious. Having a million Scoville pass through your body is the one thing that is stopping you from winning a large sum of money.

If TruTv continues to find entertaining people who can take the heat and survive the questions, I can see this show lasting for quite a few seasons, just like Its YouTube counterpart. If you have not already watched the show and are a fan of Sean Evans and his sadistic show, then I advise you give this one a shot as well.
