Hot One’s New Hot Show

Last night, February 18th, TruTv premiered the Hot One’s Game Show. This new reality trivia show based on the ever-popular web series pits two teams of two against one another as they go through a gauntlet of wings and trivia questions in hopes of winning $25,000.

When Sean Evans announced that Hot Ones was hitting our television screens in a new way, I was, of course, skeptical because I did not want to see something that I love ruined by syndication. At first, I almost did not watch it in the fear that the magic that First We Feast created would no longer be there when you bring on any John or Jane Doe. Luckily, I was wrong.

These contestants are practically put through hell when participating in this show, and I have to say that I have to respect anyone that signs up to have their face melted off by up to a million Scoville in the pursuit of a cash prize. The crazy thing is that all wings must be thoroughly cleaned before the round starting, and you can tell by the looks on the faces of these contestants that the wings are rather unpleasant. Some even have a hard time keeping the wings down and must lean on a bucket just in case their body decides to reject the heat. Not only must they stomach the wings, but they must also survive a barrage of questions that they must answer despite not being able to feel their face.
